Michael Denison is a fantastic pianist, composer, arranger, and teacher! He is a fine sight-reader and is willing to play all styles of music. Michael is a patient teacher and adds the finer points of piano playing right from the start, a real bonus. I thoroughly enjoy working with Michael.

We have been so fortunate to have Michael as our accompanist for the Laguna Beach Chorale. He has been with us from the beginning when the chorale was informally getting together and doing concerts in conjunction with the music program at St. Mary’s Church in Laguna Beach. As our accompanist, he has seen us through preparations and performances on a choral tour of England and three concert appearances at New York’s Carnegie Hall.

His dedication and musicianship as an accompanist and performer have been an integral part of the growth of the Laguna Beach Chorale and its members.

Michael is a great teacher; he has infinite patience, and the ability to work with older and younger students. In the two years that he has guided me, I have reached a lifetime goal of learning to play piano. I am not at the level of proficiency I want, but I can now play simple classical pieces. Two years ago, I could not read a note! My son Andrew says “Michael is awesome!”, and my daughter says “Michael owns”.
